Banshidhar Charitable Trust was constituted on 28-06-2019 in memory of Late Banshidharji Bagaria who was born on 5th March, 1936 in Greenwood Tea Estate, Dibrugarh, Assam.
Late Banshidharji Bagaria was the fifth child of Late Badridasji Bagaria and Late Purni Devi Bagaria. From a young age, he had to shoulder the family’s responsibilities, as his father was suffering from paralysis. In 1957, he married Srimati Maina Devi Bagaria. However, soon after his marriage, he moved to Kolkata to complete his Chartered Accountancy. Through his professional knowledge and kind nature, he became a highly renowned Chartered Accountant, particularly in Assam and across North East India, earning immense respect in his field. He was a deeply pious man, frequently visiting various temples. Although he relocated from Greenwood to Dibrugarh Town, he never stopped visiting his ancestral home in Greenwood. Late Banshidharji Bagaria and Smt. Maina Devi Bagaria were blessed with five children. Despite being a selfless person who lived for others, he often neglected his own health. At the age of 62, he was diagnosed with kidney problems, which never fully healed. Even in illness and weakness, he remained dedicated to his work, never missing office duties. On 08-09-2003, at the age of 67, he passed away in Dibrugarh after a prolonged illness. Though he left us physically, he remains with us in spirit. He is among the stars shining in the sky—perhaps not just stars, but openings in Heaven, through which the love of our lost ones pours down, reminding us that they are at peace.
